2016 Benefit: Self-emptying for souls
At our 3rd Annual HEAL Benefit, Deacon Leo Okonkwo, HEAL Founder, spoke about self-emptying (cf. Phil 2:6-11) as it relates to a medical mission project for uplifting poor and marginalized orphans, widows, and rural villagers in southeast Nigeria.
At our Third Annual Benefit we also honored the late Sr. Callista through a video compilation, but the greatest honor we could give her was with the continued commitment to serve the widows and orphans of Nigeria. The video shows how HEAL’s community of missionary sisters, the Messengers of Justice (MOJ), have been impacted by the broken medical system in Nigeria and how we plan to remedy the problem for the purposes of HEAL’s mission.
