Messengers of Justice

Background

Rev. Leonard Okonkwo attracted missionary followers in the mid 1990’s, when he began his ministry to God’s people in rural villages. He developed these volunteer missionaries into a religious community called the Messengers of Justice (MOJ). Today, the MOJ, led by Superior Delegate, Rev. Sr. Racheal Ulor, MOJ, act as the spiritual core and heartbeat of HEAL’s mission.

Spirituality

Our programs are animated by the Spirituality of Self-Emptying as expressed by St. Paul (Phil 2:6-11). Jesus Christ set aside his Divine glory and privileges and “became man”, thus engaging our sinful and broken world and obediently accepting death on the Cross for our salvation! Imitating Christ, HEAL missionaries set aside their own comforts and attachments to encounter God’s people in their dire and challenging conditions.
