Cassava & Maize Farm

Help Us Reduce Food Budget and Create Jobs!

Of 550 enrolled students at BOMCA & MENPS, 106 boarding students receive three (3) meals per day and 444 day students receive one (1) meal per day or 760 TOTAL MEALS per school day! Food accounts for 35% (c. $140K – 3 year avg) of HEAL’s total annual operational budget. Some crops are grown and harvested on mission land, but the vast majority of needed foods for nutritious meals are purchased in bulk quantities at local markets. By establishing a Cassava & Maize Farm, HEAL will increase grown produce capacity, reduce annual local market expenditure by about 40% or $56,000, and employ up to 50 poor villagers thus increasing their living standard.
