I heard an old slogan once that said, “First, raise friends.  Then, raise funds.”  HEAL is about friendship with our supporters before it is about anything else.  Before telling our friends what we need, we want to know how they can best help us in terms of their own expertise, talents, finances, and prayers.

Michael and Noreen Shimkus at the HEAL Benefit on 10/29/14.

One of HEAL’s best friends is musical composer extraordinaire, Michael Shimkus. If you were present at the 1st Annual HEAL Benefit on 10/29, then you heard Michael’s amazing guitar and piano performances, which graced the evening. You also heard him speak of why he supports HEAL.  Michael lived in an orphanage as a child and, so, sympathizes with our mission of service to widows and orphans in West Africa.

At the benefit, we shared a creative new way for our friends to support HEAL.  All of us love to socialize by meeting friends and family out for dinner or drinks or by hosting them in our homes.  Imagine hosting such a gathering to benefit HEAL, with the beautiful music of Michael Shimkus as entertainment for your guests!  You and your friends will reconnect with each other over great food and inspiring music and, simultaneously, support HEAL!

As host, you will receive HEAL brochures and a HEAL video presentation to show your guests.  Only friends like Michael Shimkus and like you can help HEAL raise the funds needed to accomplish our goal of better serving the spiritual, educational, and material needs of the orphans and widows in our care.
