As I’m sure you are aware, the Ebola virus in West Africa has killed far too many people.  While Nigeria has been declared Ebola free by the WHO, we have no reliable information that confirms its eradication in the remote, rural villages such as where our HEAL mission is located.  The Messengers of Justice (MOJ), therefore, are anxiously working to protect the orphans and widows in our custody from this dreaded disease!

To meet the required protocols, we URGENTLY need your help with the following:

New filters have improved our drinking water, but we must do more to prevent Ebola.!

A.  Chemical Sanitation

Regular hand washing and disinfecting of common areas will help to check the entrance of the virus. We must obtain tap water containers, disinfectant, and antibacterial soap for the 90+ orphans and widows under the umbrella of the Compassionate Home.

B. Hygienic Bathrooms

The children must avoid using open fields and public toilets, which contribute to spreading the virus via contact with skin and bodily fluids.  We urgently need hygienically constructed toilets to make our bathroom hygiene safer.  Thanks to a recent contribution of 3 water filters, we have made hygienic improvements to our drinking water.

C.  Symptoms Screening

We need infrared thermometers for the early testing of Ebola symptoms. This is a government requirement for private schools like ours. We must also screen those who come and go from the Compassionate Home school each day.  A regular check on this will help to keep the missionaries comfortable and relaxed in their continued apostolic work.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 by the end of December in order to fully fund the medical protocols for combating Ebola.  This will also fund the retention of a staff nurse on site at the Compassionate Home for all of 2015.

We, the MOJ community, would be devastated to see any of our children contract Ebola, and we humbly ask our HEAL supporters for this urgently needed assistance!
