We also remodeled the Compassionate Home in Nigeria in order to expand our accommodations, allowing us to take in 10 more orphans in dire need. HEAL’s signature achievement in 2014 was the construction of the new kindergarten school, which has provided our students with a significantly improved learning environment.
Looking ahead to 2015, HEAL’s main objective is to make the Home School in Nigeria a self-sustaining operation. This will happen by the establishment of a large-scale poultry farm on our mission grounds in Umuagwu village. Our missionaries are currently learning how to raise poultry from Andrew Okonkwo, older brother of Leo Okonkwo, founder of HEAL.
We have the expertise to raise poultry cost effectively, bring the birds to market, and earn a return on each bird we sell. All we need are the funds to commence the operation. At that point, the Nigeria Home School will be able to meet its own food, fuel, school supplies, building maintenance and other operating expenses. This will be a huge boon for the mission!
Thank you for your assistance in 2014, a year of growth for HEAL. Please join our efforts to achieve our goals for 2015! We need your prayers, ideas, and connections in addition to financial help!
