In yesterday’s Gospel (Mk 3:7-12), Our Lord boards a boat off shore of the Sea of Galilee to avoid being crushed by a great crowd pressing upon him.  In the crowd, people with various diseases wanted to touch him and be healed.

As Jesus “emptied himself” (Phil 2:6-11) in service of crowds of people in their various dire needs, so do the Messengers of Justice Sisters (MOJ) empty themselves in service of the least of God’s people (Mt. 25:40).

On January 10th, Sr. Dorothy Nkemjika professed final vows as an MOJ Sister in a ceremony at BOMCA Academy, where she works as a religious educator and mentor for the Masters among her other duties.

Now a fully professed sister after 3-years of preparation, Sr. Dorothy is battle tested and ready.  “It is not clerical or religious status that matters, but rather the self-emptied lifestyle of Christ”, says Rev. Leo Okonkwo, Founder of the MOJs, regarding their expected manner of life and attitude.

How did Sr. Dorothy discover her calling?

“I met one of the MOJ Sisters working with children and noticed how well they got along”, she says of her 1st impression.  “I was touched by it.”

Working directly with the Masters, Sr. Dorothy has fully embraced her life’s mission.  “It has been a challenging call for me, but I do not mind the pains and sufferings because I am happy doing it”, she says.

Of course, Sr. Dorothy needs help to continue her mission.

HEAL must provide the Masters with food, light, medical care, clean running water, teachers, AND spiritual mentors like Sr. Dorothy.

In 2021, our goal is to build an army of 1,000+ small donors each giving $10 or $25 per month.  Indeed, we also need middle and larger size single gifts.

But, to keep our basic operations going, an army of people each giving $10 or $25 each month will be crucially important!

Accept my humble gratitude on behalf of the Masters!
