HEAL has been assiduously helping our youth get back on track with their lives and development. They have been delayed long enough!
Since schools in Nigeria reopened fully in October, the Masters and their teachers at BOMCA Academy have been working hard to make up for 6 months of academic material missed while schools were closed.
“Our teachers’ ability to impart make-up material in their lessons under such a time constraint has been amazing,” said Rev. Leo Okonkwo, HEAL Founder. “I’m really proud of them.”
While the Masters have finally caught up in their studies, the next challenge for Senior Secondary 3 (SS-3) students is to prepare for the WAEC exam, a national exam necessary for admission to universities in Nigeria.
Of course, a challenge for students is a challenge for their teachers. “The ball is in our court to make sure students are prepared to successfully take the WAEC exam,” says biology teacher, Ofoegbu Chizubor.
For Ofoegbu, educating the Masters is her role in the overall mission of HEAL to form poor and marginalized youth into Servant Leaders (Mt. 20:26).
Passing the WAEC exam is an essential stepping stone to becoming a leader for SS-3 students like Cal Alexis. “I wish to gain admission to University and study to become a renowned computer scientist,” she says.
For Cal Alexis and all 550 BOMCA students to reach their goal of becoming future Servant Leaders for Nigeria and beyond, they need YOUR help!
HEAL must pay selfless teachers like Ofoegbu and cover all necessities to keep our missionary programs going! Our imperative goal for 2021 is to inspire 1,000 HEAL Heroes each making MONTHLY gifts of $10, $25, or $50.
Please consider being such a hero!
After suffering the setbacks of the harsh pandemic restrictions of 2020, the Masters need more and more heroes pushing them forward!
